Thermal protectors work by using a bimetallic strip or a temperature-sensitive disc that expands or contracts as the temperature changes. When the temperature reaches a critical point, the bimetallic strip or disc will snap open and break the electrical circuit, cutting off power to the equipment. Once the temperature drops back to a safe level, the thermal protector will reset automatically and allow the equipment to resume normal operation. Thermal protectors are an important safety feature for many electrical appliances and machinery, especially those that operate in environments where the temperature can fluctuate widely or where overheating can occur due to a malfunction or other factors.
