Mounting method of temperature sensitive thermostat
When engineers get a temperature sensitive thermostat sample, they have to mount the thermostat to the applications before doing mock up test. If the mounting method is not correct, the test result might have a big deviation. Let’s use 17AME type thermostat to be an example to explain how the thermostat should be mounted correctly.
No matter what applications the thermostats should be used to, the temperature sensing side has to be correct. Please see the following pic:
If the application is motor, the thermostat should contact the windings firmly. The contact surface of winding has to be plain so that the heat of winding can be conducted to the bimetal of thermostat quickly and smoothly.
If the application is lighting or heating, there should be a special device like box or room to make the thermostat be mounted tightly. This device should have very good heat conductivity.
If you use an infrared heat source, the infrared should be projected to temperature sensing side of thermostat directly. No other interference allowed.
